Un espacio de amigos
Hace apenas año y medio fue que decidí formar parte del equipo Petate; buscaba un empleo eventual, y al cabo de unos meses cambiar mi lugar de residencia, pero me enamoraron el lugar, el equipo y los huéspedes; se han convertido en mi familia y en mi hogar y han cambiado totalmente el concepto que tenía de la palabra "hospedaje".
Antes pensaba que era simplemente 'un lugar donde dormir', y ahora definitivamente es algo más que sólo eso, desde mi perspectiva ahora la palabra hospedaje se convirtió en recibir a la familia, esperar que estén y se sientan como en casa y como anfitrión me convierto en cómplice de viaje y parte de sus historias.
Se siente bien ver como ese afecto y esa empatía viene de vuelta por parte de cada uno de los viajeros, así es como hemos creado un ambiente agradable y un hogar para todos en este lugar. Teniendo infinidad de experiencias, sonrisas, fiestas, comida, música, baile, etc. aprendiendo de cada viajero de cada parte del mundo, una y otra cosa sobre sus países, sobre sus culturas, y platicando un poco sobre el nuestro y nuestra cultura también. Es un intercambio de visiones realmente enriquecedor, que me ha abierto mi perspectiva sobre el tamaño y el color del mundo y despertado mi apetito por viajar!
Hasta ahora sólo puedo agradecer a toda esta gran familia y decir realmente que hermosa y enriquecedora es la cultura del viajero.
It´s been only a year and a half that i decided to join the staff at Petate; i was just looking for a short term job so i could save a few money to start in a different place, but i fall in love of the place, the team and the guests; they all have become my family and my home and changed the concept i had about "lodging".
I used to think that a hostel was just a "place to spent the night", and now i understand it´s more than that, from my perspective it became in receiving family, make everything i can do to make everyone feel at home and as a host i became a part of their journeys ans stories.
It feels great to see how that affection and empathy come all the way back from each one of the guest; that how we have manage to create a nice environment and a home for all in this place. We share a lot of experiencies, smiles, parties, food, music, etc, learnig from each traveler from all around the world about their countries, their cultures and of course we also have the opportunity to talk about our own. It´s a great exchange of visions that have opened my perspective about the size and the colors of the world, know i´m eager to travel too!
Today i´m gratefull to this huge family and say how beautiful and magnificent is the traveler culture.
